Well my concerns are not because of the fees. My bank does not charge too much, but it also takes more than 1 month to have the cash. Rules in my country work in this way. Even if I receive a check from an euro country denominated in Euro, the same happens. As long as the cheque comes from other country it takes this long process. That’s one reason that I usually look at the payment options on poker rooms and casinos. I know that if they have moneybookers I can receive any winnings very fast. Moneybookers wire the funds to my bank account and it only takes 2 days to have the funds available. Neteller does not wire the funds to European banks.
I also did a mistake that I will revert soon. I denominated my Neteller account in Euro since I deal with euro in my country. I though neteller would convert the funds and send cheques in Euro. What a mistake Neteller does not have a real euro account.
This happened the last time I receive funds in USD from a casino:
I reveive USD funds to Neteller. They converted USD to Euro, because my account is denominated in Euro (lost conversion commissions);
I withdraw the funds from neteller, they convert EUR to USD in order to process a cheque (always pays in USD) (comission lost again);
The cheque arrives, I put it in the bank. They charged me fees and convert into Euro (conversion comission again).
No good. I don’t recommend an EUR account on Neteller to anyone. Work in USD and convert only once.
