Are you planning to use a free domain hosted at Tripod?
I think that’s not a good thing. Why?
- You don’t have complete control over the site.
- Tripod puts loads of forced advertisement into your site. As I can se at least 30% of the site is for Tripod advertisement and for things not even related to gambling.
- You do not have a domain but only a subdomain. The lack of a domain can detrieve confidence for the end user.
- A lot of webmasters will not exchange links with you
- In terms of search engine position, I think it also hurts you, but maybe someone with more knowledge on SEO can confirm this.
I don’t know if you’re only planning your site and using Tripod for that, and thinking of having your own domain hosted elsewhere. If this is the case disregard what I said. If not, I would consider registering a new domain and hosting it elsewhere. $8 or less for a domain and $5/month for hosting and you will be far better.
