Good points bb1. Anything that can make already suspicious players more concerned is bad.
On slow play: I don’t know how Microgaming handles updating the software, but it’s possible that the reason things are so slow is that your bandwidth is mostly busy downloading updated software, particularly if this is a fresh install.
I know back when I was on a dial-up connection, Playtech software was horribly slow until it had managed to finally download all the games. After that it was quite fast. Since I knew what was going on, it wasn’t that big a deal to me. But I’m sure 90+% of players don’t know why it’s so slow. I bet they lose a lot of players because of this. How long would you hang around if you thought that it would take 2 minutes to play a single hand?
I like the fact that Playtech slowly installs the entire casino, but I wish they would somehow make it smart enough to do so slowly enough to not impede game play while it happens. Now, if a player clicks on a specific game which isn’t yet installed, all other download activity should pause while the requested game gets full use of the bandwidth available to download.
