The partnerlogic stats are terrible. They have improved a tad – easier to look at – but they are lacking specifics.
And, Steve, here we go for the umpteenth time in the last 2 1/2 years:
There are about 3 affs I can think of who have something really good to say about Focal Point
I assume that’s why they were voted best aff program last year and are first followup this year.
I’d avoid them like the plague.
You have been avoiding them like the plague for over a year and your stats show it. There are lots of programs I can’t make a penny with, and I avoid them like the plague too. I don’t, however, begrudge others the opportunity to make money with them.
But in the same amount of time that I saw my earnings go up at some poker rooms to amounts of around 300, then 600, then nearly a grand a month, (abeit a large amount of that is from one really big whale), even if you figure it as a 1/3 from other players, that’s still $300 a month more than I ever saw from Focal’s poker room despite the fact that I personally walked about half a dozen players thru the sign up process and I used to see them in there playing
You haven’t promoted their poker in over a year. It converts very well these days. And players stick, it is a great room as you say yourself.
I did not have that luxury with Focal so I cannot say for certain whether they’re poker room tracks correctly or not, but I can say I was very disappointed with my results there after having spent so much time and prime space promoting them.
Their poker room tracks perfectly well and has for many months now. They did have problems with the feed from crypto initially, over a year ago when you did promote them.
I really am starting to wonder what went down between you and Focal – for anyone to trash a program with regularity and to go out of one’s way to email negative items about them to newbies even after not having promoted them for a very long time – I don’t get it. You must have some real emotional problem with them deep in your belly. It is so unlike you – you are such a nice person. I really am astonished that we go round this maulberry bush over and over and over….
I end up defending them every time because I just don’t see how it can be just and fair to scare new affiliates off a program that represents such casinos as the Sands and Omni, has been in existance for years and years, has an excellent reputation and provides substantial income to a lot of people. You are starting to make an impact on their ability to do business if you scare off new affiliates the way you do – I am sure you know that. So why would you be so determined to drive someone out of business?
I only make money with maybe 10% of the programs. That doesn’t mean the other 90% are bad, others make money with them. My visitors are just not a good match for them.
If you use mostly bought traffic that rushes in, looks for a new casino to get a bonus at, and rushes out, all the older casinos are a bad bet for you as your visitor likely has played there already, years ago. Even if they get clicks and downloads, most likely another affiliate already had them in their account from long ago.
If you have visitors who are newbie players, these casinos are a very good bet for you. They have a solid reputation and are trustworthy and convert more newbie players.
These are just a couple of criteria – there are lots of them.
There are issues of look and feel of yur site and the creatives provided by the program, and a whole slew of other things. The thing to do is to find the programs that work for YOU and move on.
If they have been in existance for a long time, represent reputable casinos and look good to you personally, by all means give them a shot. There is a decent chance they will perform for you. If they don’t, dump’em and move on. Sooner or later you will find the 10% that work well for you.
And even this changes eventually, off and on someone who has always done well for you suddenly falls off for whatever reason. What to do? Dump’em and move on, maybe revisit in a few months to see if it picks up again.
Individual experiences with program performance are just that. They don’t apply to anyone but you. Customer service is another story, snotty treatment of affiliates, obvious shaving, stealing visitors through scumware over your own affiliate’s sites, competing with your affiliates by runnng lots of portals, and a number of other factors are real reasons to shame and blame a program and to warn others off. Short of that, it is an individual matter.
The professor is making a ton of money with programs that perform very poorly for me. Krystall is making money with programs BB1 can’t make anything with. I make money with programs Krystall can’t make money with. And so on and so on and so on. I think it is a good thing – otherwise we would all be advertising the very same casinos and there would be even tighter competition. I actually usually will give lesser advertised casinos a better chance – avoiding a lot of competition in the process. What if all of us would advertise only Referback on our front pages? How many clicks do you think you would get after a few months?
The variety of programs and the fact that they do not perform equally for all are a GOOD THING! (Martha Stewart has spoken  )
Now have a merry Christmas and wonderful holidays, everyone and especially my friend Steve! You know I love you and your outspokenness.
