I’m not much of a draw player

just to clarify, I was talking about 5 card stud and not 5 card draw poker.

if you were to sit in and watch a game of 5 card stud at stakes higher than $2/$4 you’d likely see where players start out the high card showing will bet and it keeps up that way thru the hand with whoever has the high hand showing at the time; betting their ass off trying to run off the competition.

the ante is very low and with that in mind; if you only play the hands that are dealt to you on the first round; being two cards, one up and one down: if you only choose to stay in when you have been dealt a pair; (or ace king is good also, but its a slippery slope from there)

You will likely see a profit at the end of the day.

$1000 to $2000 is ambitious; I think I’ve had one month where I cashed out about $2800, and many months it went the other way although not near to that extreme.
