I’ve been playing poker 1/2 my life. I’ve played and placed in many WSOP and WPO events and made a living playing poker for over a year (that was my only means of income that year, it paid for my mortgage, all my bills and bought me a car)
I can tell you it takes years of practice, you SHOULD NOT jump into high limit games, you’ll never make it, I don’t care how lucky you can get. In the long run you’ll get killed. You need to start off in the lower limits 1/2 etc. and learn the game, learn position, pot odds and what starting hands to play.
Super System is a great book like Ernie says. Also there’s some good Sklansky hold’em books for beginners.
