I once found a very good article about online gambling. It was absolutely excellent, outlining the good and the bad sides to it. It took me almost a dozen emails to get any permission – the reporter had to get permission from the editor, etc.
For this, all I was asking for was to publish the first paragraph or so and then put a link to their url, where the article was published in full.
Maybe I didn’t even need permission to print introductory text with a link to them, I don’t know.
So, then I sent a couple of emails to moreover, and never recieved a reply.
Incorporating gambling news into my site was then put on the backburner, and I haven’t revisited that idea since.
One thing for sure, if you want to do the news thing on your own, by finding and updating yourself, you will have to expend considerable effort to obtain permissions.
I think it would be better to pay for a newsfeed, and find one that will incorporate the stories into your website, and doesn’t take the visitor off the page. It will surely cost more, but in my opinion, it would be worth it.
