All the ones I saw over there were manual – although some of the newer ones have a remote control also.
These things are pretty thick and heavy too but are pulled up and down on some wheelie type things that give a ton of leverage – I am not much of an engineer. These things are built into the wall next to the window as the houses are built and it’s all standard equipment.
