I used to be so much on top of these things – but they have gotten so way out of hand with lots and oodles of small time operators devising their own trojans that it’s impossible to know it all.
The last one I had that could not be removed by any of the removers turned out to be so simple:
Search you computer for ” popup killer “
If you find it, delete it.
Then run aluria.
If this doesn’t work, search for other terms like it, such as popup remover, spyware killer and such. They like to hide programs behind these terms and as long as that file exists on your computer none of the removal tools will work.

There will be a lot of scum targeting the search engines in the near future. It is a natural reaction to the PPC problems in our industry.
