I used to have an old barn cat that sort of became adopted due to my son. He was a real badass and I’ve seen him more than once run not one, but two dogs off our property.

I named him fastcat because he was faster than the end of my foot.

Last thing I ever saw of him was two little girls had captured him and stuffed him into their baby cradle and as they took him home to their house I could see his face looking back over around the cradle at me.

Winter was coming on and we had a heck of a time with him the winter before; and he really didn’t get the attention he deserved; so I just watched them haul him away.

LOL, reminded me of that cartoon where the little girl grabs the cat and squeezes the shit out of it and the cat was always trying to get away.

I still see fastcat every once in a while; he’s been well taken care of and still manages to escape every once in a while to come and visit.

But I think he kinda likes the attention they give him; he never stays long.

he was a great cat as cats go however; one other incident worth mentioning is when he used to climb up in the back of my car window to sun himself;

I came out early one saturday and took off to a garage sale not knowing he was along for the ride.

I got to the garage sale and walked up saying hello to the owner; about that time his large hound dog jumped up and went flying by us barking and carrying on.

the house owner said, “You better get your cat!”

I turned to see that fastcat had climbed out of the car and was laying down on the hood of my car sunning himself and that dog went running up towards him,

I said, “Mister, you better call your dog!”

but it was too late; the dog jumped up his front paws on the hood of my car and fastcat didn’t even get up. He just stuck one paw out and shot those claws out to working length and with one swipe across that dogs nose sent him yelping back past the two of us standing in the garage.

fastcat never flinched. LOL.
