There is more money to be made from the first page
results of all the search terms than whatever they
are making now.
The search engine players are fewer now than ever and
the market is not what it was only a couple of months ago.
Once they go public a new entry into the market would
have as easy a time as building a car to compete against
the current car manufacturers.
The assumption here is that they will leave all that money
on the table as it now stands and yet go public with ever
increasing pressures to generate more revenues.
The other assumption is that Free listings offer better results
which is not the case … a case in point is the Yellow Pages.
Finally … we must keep in mind that their primary mission
is not to give Free and Relevant results … their mission
is to make as much money as possible for its owners.
