Heres info that Infopowa released on Saturday. This probably has ome connection to the recent access problems:

InfoPowa

NOT SO FRIENDLY PERSUASION

How did Mastercard get those private and personal details?

Another of those intriguing online gambling issues surfaced as we went to press. Tony Friedman’s Windows Casino clones/sub-licensees have been pumping out an intriguing email to players advising them that their personal details have been released.

It suggests that Friedman was in some unspecified way forced to release private player information to Mastercard, but now expects the players to refuse to divulge any information if they are approached by that organisation. It is unknown how Mastercard *persuaded* him to release the private and confidential details of his player base, but he has been in trouble before on player privacy issues:

This is the email that players have been receiving:
…………………………………
Dear Valued Player,

My apologies in advance, but I have some disturbing news for you
relating to Mastercard and the use of your Mastercard credit card on
your account at Windows Casino.

Mastercard are forcing us to reveal names of players who received
withdrawals back to their Mastercards from their casino account. They
would have preferred it if we had sent you a check instead – of course
they would have earnt more interest from you had we sent you a check
instead of returning your funds directly to your Mastercard.

**********************************************************************
IMPORTANT WARNING: Mastercard might try to contact you by telephone
to question you about the use of your Mastercard. I strongly advise
you NOT to answer ANY questions, simply remind them that it’s none of
their business, and they’re VIOLATING YOUR RIGHT TO PRIVACY! Please
don’t let them get away with this!
**********************************************************************

I deeply regret that there’s nothing I could do to stop this, believe
me I tried, but unfortunately we are virtually powerless when faced
with the might of a large international corporation such as
Mastercard.

Please accept my sincere apologies for this inconvenience, and don’t
worry. If you don’t say anything then they can’t do anything! – It’s
that simple!

Sincerely,

Tony Friedman

We asked Friedman to explain what sort of *persuasion* Mastercard had brought to bear in order to achieve such a gross violation of player confidentiality by his casino. He had not responded by the time we went to press.
