Leading online poker site PokerStars.com has announced its sponsorship of the upcoming European Poker Tour (EPT) London tournament, which begins on Wednesday before finishing on October 7.
The sixth edition of the popular tournament will be staged at two locations, the Hilton London Metropole and the Grosvenor Victoria Casino, although both venues are located just metres away from each other on the fashionable Edgware Road.
The festivities start on September 30 with a £20,500 buy-in high-roller tournament before progressing on to no-limit hold'em six-max and pot-limit Omaha freeze-out events.
The Thursday will see a pot-limit Omaha double chance six-max event and the European Eight-Game Championship. Following this, the first day of the main event will take place on October 2 with the eventual champion declared five days later.
In an effort to get more women involved in the sport, PokerStars.com is hosting a ladies-only event on October 5. The site is currently running satellite qualification tournaments for this special affair and winners will receive their buy-in alongside a night's stay at a luxurious London hotel.
