I voted somewhat. There are good days and bad days like any career.

I think for most people the money becomes the major motivation rather than whatever it was that originally made someone want to become an affiliate. There are some sites that stick to their principals and protect the player (I like to think I’m one of those), but I see many sites end up selling out for the almighty dollar.

Selling out being doing things like promoting rogue sites because they pay well, selling black hat links just to turn a quick buck, publishing press releases from unknown entities telling one’s readers all sorts of wonderful things without actually vetting the company providing the PR.

But I digress…

There are many pros. Freedom, at least in theory, to work your own hours. Being your own boss is another perk. All the affiliate conferences where you can take a vacation and legitimately write off some of your trip as a business expense.

As you can see, I have mixed feelings on the matter. Hence why I chose “somewhat”.
