Hello,
I have seen some people selling websites on here and a selling point they often use is the amount of indexed pages on Google. I have a site with a lot of pages indexed and it made me question how valuable is that? Is this a major factor in the site worth?

I would really appreciate anyones input :)

I believe buying a site with indexed pages on google has little or no value to what this had before. The reason I say that is from experience as well as when Google sees a new owner, host etc it starts to loose value in the indexed pages over a matter of weeks.

If someone is selling a massive portal this may not be the case as the portal has gained consierable reputation among the search engines over the years and I doubt a change of ownership will affect the results too much.

Beware though as anyone can get a site listed and pages indexed in google quite cheaply and quickly so do not go on the indexed page count alone. Other factors such as period of time the site has been listed, age and site traffic should be considered.
