bush did inherited a bad economy. I worked for nortel networks and my exit interview was 11 years ago yesterday 9/11/01 so I remember it well. my exit interview was scheduled months before it actually happened.
The reason I left high tech and became an affiliate is the pay never increased. If I look for a job today it will be at or only slightly better than the rate I started Nortel back in 1994.
but apples to apples, bush created 3 million jobs, the first job created 30 months into his term, in the end he netted only 1.1 million jobs if you factor in the 2000 recession, 9/11 and the start of the great recession losses. Bush did have two very high tax revenue years, 2006 and 2007. They were exceptional but not records.
The great recession 2008-2010 lost more jobs about 850K more than the last 6 recessions combined dating back to the 1960’s. the only worse period was the job loss in the great depression and about 4 times as many as the 2000 recession(2.3 million jobs lost.)
If you take the number of 8-10 million jobs lost (for the Great recession) it is true Obama did add 4.5 million jobs in the last 29 months he’s still at a net loss of about 50-60% for jobs.
for comparison, clinton created 22 million jobs, reagan 18 million and yes, carter 10 million.
