My site was down for approximately 3-4 hours. From the reports I read, it wasn’t just people who hosted with them, but also people who had their domains registered with them. 50 million sites is a lot…

For whatever reason, there seems to be a very “hands-off” cynical approach to their services that I hear often from lots of my friends in the industry and also on the forums.

I just want to opine to the contrary based on my own experiences with them.

In all honesty I’ve never really had a problem and I’ve found every single one of their telephone support agents incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and patient.

To be fair, I run just one site and it’s not my main source of income, so I’m somewhat less “pressured”. Moreover, I’m not a “webmaster tech whiz” like lots of you out there…just a professional from the Content side of the industry who loves poker….so anything and everything I know from the tech side of things comes somewhat more difficult to me so it’s possible I was fielding “easy” questions to them…but to me, clueless, their knowledge and assistance was as good as gold each and ever time I had to call for support.

Lastly, for the record, at one point I just stopped our conversation with one of the support agents and asked him how on earth he knew SO much…I mean literally, he walked me through everything I needed to figure out, step by step, for 20 minutes patiently and sympathetically….and after thanking me for the compliment he mentioned that GoDaddy accepts 1 out of every 1,000 applicants for tech support positions.

At least that’s my experience with them…and I’m happy they were able to counter the cyberattack relatively quickly.

I don’t host there and only did so briefly with a new domain recently.

I use it strictly for domain registration. The support for that has always been great.
