This is along the same lines: The New York Post is saying that Barney Frank’s Internet gambling regulation idea is “worse than the subprime mortgage” crisis.

“The decriminalization of US Internet gambling would fuel a surge among gamblers — perhaps $16 billion-to-$20 billion wagered across the country in the first year it was made legal, according to a recent study — which would devastate the lives of many Americans and jeopardize a fragile economy.”

The article seems to be more of a knee-jerk attack on Barney Frank (surprise, surprise!) than an argument against online gambling, but it’s pretty funny all the same.

And let’s not forget that the New York Post is owned by uber-conservative Rupert Murdoch, the man behind Fox News. Hidden agenda, perhaps? Not-so-hidden, even?
