There is great bar restaraunt called Iguana its a very kool mexican restaraunt/bar close to your hotels its on Zoltan utca cant miss it.. the owner who is a freind of mine is also holding is anual street party on Sat 12th… Its gotten pretty big and is always alot of fun. Also the wine festival is taking place our conf weekend (also a can’t miss) so lots going on. Pleaes be aware that some of the bars downtown are tourist traps and our twice as $$$ especially on vaci utca (street)…

One last thing there is a ongoing scam that goes down on Vaci utca that you should be aware of.. Basically it goes down like this, one or two hot girls (extremely hot) approach you and ask you to buy them drinks, they then lead you to a bar that will charge you $1k 2k etc for drinks. if you refuse to pay they will give you a choice pay up or get your ass kicked. They will actually escort you to the ATM machine and empty your account (not kidding) this happens to usually drunk british tourists but no one is immune from getting ripped off. The cops are in it as well so going to the cops wont help…
If yourr looking to go to any of the strip bars be aware that 80% of them here are rip off joints… ask me if you need a list of safe ones just ask will let you know…
Pickpocketing are also problem, along with purses that are left on your chair at restaraunts So keep that in mind but other then that Budapst a extremely safe city in terms of not having to worry about getting mugged etc but the petty thefts and rip off places still a problem here.
