http://www.nexplore.com/ is really interesting. I like the clean presentation and the way you can view just linear listings, listings with screenshots, just screenshots, or you can use linear and mouse over to see screenshots. It also shows wiki searches on the side, and suggests other terms.

I am an old google addict, as much as I dislike google I always end up using it.

I can definitely see myself using this instead… first time I came across one I actually prefer to google.

I also like the video and podcast search. Try the video search! It brings the videos live! Easy to add to your browser and make default too, you can do it even if you are a surfer with no computer skills at all. You can also add to favorites with one click, or send the result to social sites or the trash if you don’t like it.

The search results seem spam free, but I haven’t dug very deep.

I was googling for brass lamps some time ago and got really frustrated because the results were all netstores or amazon etc with very few actual brass lamps included, if any. I spent ages digging something up. This engine – tons of true results. The web is actually full of places selling true brass lamps – and I NEVER found them with google, I ended up buying some inferior products. I am impressed with the results. Try some off the beaten track searches.
