I don’t think the cloaking the links really makes an impact either way. I have sites that rank just fine with affiliate links and sites that rank fine with the php redirects. I think it’s more of a conversions thing with the links, ie some people don’t want anyone to make a commission off of them so they avoid links that aren’t direct to the poker or casino site… hence the need to cloak the links.
