let’s be honest here, you don’t need to be poor to be a bully. it’s very hypocritical to consider north korea, pakistan and india as bullies while not saying anything about the rest of the nuclear countries.
israel is undeniably the biggest bullly in middle east. USA is the biggest bully in the world. russia, GB, and france are also bullies on the world stage…every country that managed to acquire nuclear weapons has turned into one. in fact, rogue countries (a very relative term, rogue according to who?) will continue to want to go nuclear because nuclear weapons are currently the biggest bargaining card against not being attacked by another country. this makes it a lot easier to understand why countries want to go nuclear. take iran, they don’t want to be attacked and influenced by USA as they were in 1953 (In 1953 Iranian coup d’état saw the overthrow of the democratically-elected Iranian Prime Minister by British and American intelligence operatives working together with Iranian agents and elements of the Iranian army. oil was the reason for the coup. the goal was to restore Anglo-Iranian Oil Company’s (renamed in 1954 as BP) access to Iranian oil fields. read more here)…in their view, the only way to make sure they don’t get attacked is to acquire nukes.
let’s not forget that the ONLY country in the world that has attacked another country with nuclear weapons is USA.
as for the balance of power in the middle east if iraq had nuclear weapons, its hard to say. i don’t have my crystal ball here. but for some reason i would think that iraq would be a bit better off than they are today…
…and wait, is there any proof/evidence/something that Iran has/is building nukes? or is this another iraqi case? i don’t mean to say that you must provide evidence in order to attack another country, but you know, it would be nice to avert another fiasco by presenting something…
