Some of my favorites include ‘sparrow’s fart’ (break of dawn) and the fact that they refer to flip flops as ‘thongs’. That one confused me a bit when I first heard it!
I was at a nightclub once in the beer garden and some girl took off her thong (flip flop) and threw it across and it rebounded off the wall and smacked me in the face.. I was telling one of my american affs that i got hit in the face with a thong and she couldn’t understand why I thought it was so funny.. She thought I had been hit in the face with a pair of undies and couldn’t understand how the girl took it off and threw it at me without being totally naked.
