I still drink beer, wine and liqour. Just dont drown yourself. Glucophage will correct your blood sugar, it wont keep you from destroying your liver with too much alcohol.
Take your medicine and monitor sugar daily you will be fine.
When you are first diagnosed with Diabetes its scary. The natural inclination is to over react and think you are on your death bed or something equally silly. This is a very managable condition and millions of people have type 2 diabetes and go on about business just fine. You will too.
Drink moderately and you will be fine. No damned reason you cant have a beer or three, just dont drain a whole keg on the weekend.
