A week or two after I submitted my sitemap to Google, it was showing 67 external links to my site. About 2 weeks ago, they suddenly disappeared and it has been showing me zero external links ever since.
That’s a little concerning, but Google must know that there are external links to my site because the keyword analysis is literally perfect:
It wouldn’t know what keywords external sites use to link to mine, if it wasn’t aware of those external links in the first place, so I’m hoping that the display of zero inbound links is just temporary.
But the Video Poker category on DMOZ is not new, so why shouldn’t it be indexed by Google?
When searching Google with this query:
site:dmoz.org/Games/Gambling/Guides/Video_Poker/
…it returns nothing. But if I back up a level:
site:dmoz.org/Games/Gambling/Guides/
it shows the other 2 subcategories, Reviews and Instructional Systems. It’s as if the Video Poker category doesn’t exist.
