Long winded reply, which contains “stuff” which probably has nothing to do with the thread.. but is interesting to know …

I think it is very hard to jump through hoops and stay ahead of the game. Have been involved with processing clients, and after 9/11, and now US gaming restrictions, credit card and card processing has become more of an issue then it previously was.

After the US banks pulled out of transacting payments for gambling merchants – master and visa had a major conference call with its processors to address this issue. The fines were raised for infringements.

I believe(hazy memory) Visa fines were raised from $75K to $200K
and Mastercard when from $50K to $150K.

Some companies who are caught doing gaming transactions will claim ignorance to begin with, and then pull out all together – especially when gaming transactions is only a small facet of their business.

As for companies who allow card processing who are based out the US – the processors which process for them, demand higher then usual fees, and extremely low chargeback rates. These processors dictate how things run, and can withhold payments until stringement requirements are met.

As unfair as it sounds, this is a reality where processors dictate to companies, companies pass it onto affiliates and players. Especially when it comes to funds.
