My opinion: thats that can give the US goverment more fuel. Myspace is predominantly a “younger” activity. I know there is adults using it at an increasing rate. But according to ZDNet under people under 24 make up over 46%. Almost, 1/3 of those are under 18. Why would one want to advertise on a community where 33-40% of people using it are under gambling age? For the other 50%? Maybe, but just dont look right and adds fuel to the fire in my opinion. US Government seems to take a hard stand on advertising questionable activities to minors (even if its a possibility). Take the tobacco industry for example, whens the last time you have seen a Tobacco commercial? Not since the 70’s I guarantee you.
My answer is Yes. I have seen some cheezy gambling pages on Myspace. They dont look good and they are there obviously just to get people to click on the affiliate banners. Pretty low in my opinion, again its just mine. Sort of like a person who once posted here who feels it necessary to spam Yahoo Answers with his website and aff codes. That too I feel is pretty low and ethically questionable. But what can you do?
