I use hostgator.. in fact I have an affiliate link somewhere
I’d post it, if I were ambitious like that .. but …
I like hostgator. It’s cheap, it’s always up, sites never down. $15 a month I think total… 30 sites or so.
Unlimited domains (there is a bandwidth limit, so far so good) I bought the middle package, because.. well I always order medium.. I don’t want the smallest, I don’t need the biggest
..
Anyway, I pay them with a paypal subscription and that’s handy… if I have 10 ideas for new sites, and 9 of them suck, no harm done, no extra hosting costs..
They have Cpanel, which is handy for beginners.. it has fantastico which makes it pretty simple to install new scripts (like wordpress.. forums.. etc) it walks you through email set up.. etc… but you’ll fnd that most hosts offer cpanel and fantastico, just check out their sites
The price is pretty comparable with shared hosting like i’m using as well.. so if you find it cheaper, and it looks like a skin of hostgator, it probably is.
On the negative side, their customer service rather sux, they aren’t real friendly, if I call and get some guy named Chris, Im ecstatic, because he usually knows what the hell i’m talking about.
I don’t call customer service real often, so I don’t generally give a damn if they’re all suffering from pms.. if you think you’ll need lotsa help, then the price probably isn’t worth the headache.
The other negative aspect is that all of my sites share IP’s .. I didn’t spring for dedicated hosting. It’s an option though, at a much higher price
