The EcoCard works like a stored value card – so any money you “deposit” can only be used for purchases.

But the account also acts as a repository for transfers and cashouts from merchants.

So … you can’t cash out your own deposits on an EcoCard … but you can withdraw payments made by other people to your EcoCard.
It sounds a bit weird .. and took me a while to accept … but seems OK once you get your head around it.
