I thought there was some degree of negative stereotyping, via mental association
The guy liked to gamble, that is obvious, he even had a nickname he was known by at the casino
His character
Unpatriotic-violated US sanctions, dealing with Iran
Untrusting-Lied about it(a politician who lies, go figure)
Slimy-Tried to swindle Elvis
He was also an alcoholic
It’s a popular way of portraying gamblers, they rarely mention gamblers like Donald Trump, who places million dollar bets and is a respectable businessman and entrepeneur, they like to portray gamblers in a negative light in the media, both news and TV
And as far as i’m concerned, this was all a setup, these politicians are all puppets part of the same familia, i’m sure mr congressman will lead a very comfortable life out of the publics eye when this passes, the timing of this event is peculiar, i’m sure they were aware of his habits 10+ years ago
If you watch shows like Americas Most Wanted, you’ll often see something like this…
Buddy killed all these people in wherever, police are looking for him, he likes to gamble and frequent casinos, etc
I mean seriously, wtf is that all about
I keep noticing these “digs”, as you call them, i thought this was one too, there was no mention of him or his associates ever doing something good in this world, they must’ve done something decent in their lives at one time, i mean these guys were highly regarded publice serveants, are we supposed to believe that they were always slimebags that we selected to represent us
Its obvious to me that gambling is considered socially unacceptable and often surpressed, unless it involves criminals, then their gambling habits are quickly exposed
