Me thinks its time Mr. Lesnic bows out of the convention scene gracefully. I never would have said anything before he made these outrageous comments, but now I think it needs to be said as I think it revealed his true colors.
With the explosion of CAP and this years popularity of the Spring Break ‘convention’ I see no reason why this arrogant and disrespectful guy should be running our industry’s events. More power to him for scheduling the sessions (tracks) he schedules, but they serve no purpose, they reveal outdated information on SEO practices or other services and no secrets are revealed, which is all anybody wants to know anyway, which we can get by getting drunk and socializing.
The only quality session of each convention comes at the end when we all drink beer and discuss general issues about the industry. Hell, we can have open panel sessions like that for two days straight and get much more accomplished.
The only other really cool things are going to Amsterdam because its Amsterdam, socializing with other affiliates and affiliate managers, walking around and looking at booths, and going to sponsored (pre paid for) parties to do more sociailizing with affiliates and managers. Plus all the affiliate give-a-ways are entertaining too.
Am I the only one who thinks like this?
