As is usually the case with Greek I have no idea what prompted this or whats bothering him now. His posts are generally cryptic and to be honest I dont undertsand what hes getting at 90% of the time. Since he’s a friend and long time CAP member we generally nod our heads and give him his space and allow him time to work out whatever it is he’s sorting out.
This is the third or fourth time we have gone through this (he tells me he is leaving CAP) and as usual he’s pmed me and asked that I lock out his account. Since this is part of the usual routine I will honor that request. I would imagine he will be back in a day or two and we will turn his account back on, with one exception, I am not going to turn back on private forum access until I feel a little more comfortable that he’s mentally stable. Over the past six months he’s gotten a little ragged around the edges and I worry about where he’s headed. Here is what I wrote him and I believe this to be the case with him now. It’s a danger we all face because we spend SO much our lives in front of a computer screen:
Its too easy to sit in front of a computer and Fall INTO cyberspace and IMAGINE its reality. It isnt, its just a communication tool. What IS reality is the family and friends and real life experiences you have along the way between birth and death. Dont let cyberspace rob you of your life. Use the internet to earn a living, yes, but dont let the internet take living out of your life. I can tell that you put SO much stock into whats going on online that it is impacting your life negatively (IE worrying all the time and spending the MAJORITY of your days and nights glued to a computer screen).
