I anchor both actually. Home link with the full url for visitors.
Then I anchor my keyword which is also linked to the full url.
I don’t know for a fact it works with SEO or not, but I’m sure it doesn’t hurt.
I noticed once a sportsbook had anchored about 10 sport betting phrases at the bottom of every page which just led to the main url. They happened to be number 1 in Google. Whether or not that helped who knows?
