Here’s a tip for traveling across the US border. If you bring an animal DON’T carry animal food (or don’t claim it). They held us for 1.5 hours for carrying Iams dog food. If you carry animal food you are subject to a full vehicle search.
I’m a US citizen and I have more hassle getting back home than I do getting into Canada. Last time I traveled to BC they didn’t ask me for any ID. I told them I was going fishing and she said have a great time eh.
