Interesting.
It is relatively common for the information requested to be asked for by online bookmakers when you open an account.
Typically it is done when suspiscions are aroused or if the customer is accessing from an exotic location (and as I’m based in New Zealand I get asked often).
Much of this requirement is laid out by the credit card companies themsleves (Mastercard / VISA) as the prudent method to minimise card fraud.
I’d just go through the motions and send a scanned JPEG of the items.
