Well guys, we had Money Mechanics change their rules for payment to the detriment of new affiliates, then we had Vegas Partners combine the casinos which is bad for everyone’s income, and today I received a letter from Fortune which also describes how our income will be cut.
Several other affiliate programs are feeling the waters asking their affs how they feel about changes in payment.
This is the fallout from the secret Amsterdam meeting.
Independently from this, we have one program removing players from accounts after 60 days of inactivity, we have the phrase “for life” disappearing quietly from some T&Cs, and we have many of the poker rooms expecting affiliates to pay for the player incentives (rake back)
Are the casinos and pokers really not profitable anymore? Is the financial squeeze from the DOJ having the desired impact? It doesn’t seem to make a lot of sense for the gambling operators to strangle the one efficient advertising vehicle they have left – affiliates.
I should think our partners would discuss these things with us and get input on the matter. I should think that our partners are in the same boat with us. If they sink us, will they swim safely?
I am very seriously considering leaving the industry. It’s either that or try to stem the tide of anti affiliate decisions. Our income is being cut from all sides. If someone is prepared to make a serious offer on Gamesandcasino.com, I will take it under serious consideration.
