I don’t agree with what has happened. It comes down to a supply and demand thing. Remove the supply (parents willing to name their kids) or the demand (GP willing to pay for it) and the whole thing will hopefully disappear. Same point has been made about illegal drugs for years but all the more difficult than this example.
But based on the auction finishing two minutes after it started, are GP creating their own supply and demand? Personally I think these kinds of stunts are getting a bit tired and time for them to move on to something more refreshing. Sure it got attention and a laughs a few years back but now I question the ROI for them, particularly in light of these one.
