Locally I like to support food banks, affordable housing and especially women’s shelters.There seems to be an epidemic of serious spousal and child abuse, and women need a place to run to with their kids. Don’t know why that seems to be getting worse and worse over the years.
Still, a huge disaster requires extra effort – it appears that aid will have a very hard time getting through to the affected areas. I hope there are good people in charge of how this money is spent – every penny is needed.
