The real problem may not be getpaidforum, but they are just as deserving of my loathing as the rest of that industry.
As an advertiser, I likely do what most do: monitor my logs, report fraudulent activity, issue chargebacks in case of irreconcilable disputes and report my findings about the good, the bad and the ugly of PPC on the various message boards I participate in.
As a group, we advertisers are getting screwed. Click fraud is as pervasive, if not more so, than parasiteware, but less understood and a much more direct attack on our bottom lines. As a group, we could likely put enough pressure on the PPC industry to force steps similar to what the affiliate networks are trying with their code of conduct for publishers. It’s a bit too little and too late, but it’s clear the pressure has had an effect.
A class action suit might be effective, as will continuing to spread the word, including to the people participating in these programs. Organized letters to the FCC from industry organizations and lobbying could also have an effect…
