Now, I am enroled in just about every casino and poker program out there.

Some I have given a non productive trial run years ago, some I do list as a courtesy to my repeat visitors even though they do not perform, some have a text link some place and are forgotten – when it comes down to it I do something with maybe a handful of programs.

Now, periodically I go and send some test traffic to one of the programs that fell by the wayside for one reason or another. To see if maybe they should get another shot.

In some of them, there is no movement at all. I do know that they are active programs, I know other affs are promoting them with at least some success.

What happened there? I guess what some programs do is deactivate some of the stats of their bottom producers. There is no other explanation. It gets to be hilarious when the same program approaches me at one of the conventions and asks me to join and offers me incentives. DUH! Turn your stats on for everyone and you may get a periodic surprise.

This type of cheating I have been aware of for a very long time – who usually suffers is the small affiliate who will never rise up because the stats don’t reflect his activity. What surprises me is that programs don’t realize they are shooting themselves in the foot when they do this. That account may belong to someone who will be a major producer in a few months, or it may already belong to a producer who is not actively promoting said program at the time.

Penny wise and pound foolish!
