Google and Gator (also known as Claria) have both filed to go public in the last couple of months. In the case of Claria, I bet that their decision to discontinue gambling ads has more to do with their wanting to be “clean” in possible shareholders eyes than appeasing the government. Any hint of trouble with the government and that is one less shareholder that may buy their publicly offered stock and line their pockets.
The same goes for Google; I find it interesting that they pulled their gambling ads right around the time they filed for an IPO and released their financial records.
