I can see how it would sound like I’m being sarcastic but I’m not. Affiliates should have the option of waiting 1 day to cash out or however long they want. The reasons for waiting can be numerous.
One example is tax planning. If an affiliates see that they’ve made too much money in the current year, and they foresee income dropping in the next year, it would be more advantageous to wait until the next year to cash out so the money is taxed at a lower bracket. This is especially important when money is taxed at the 40-50% bracket.
Other reasons could be that an affiliate is planning on relocating and doesn’t want the money to have been earned until he has has moved to a lesser taxed country.
