OK, so I have read a lot of posts in this and other forums. My main question is this:

With the pending regulatory measures against online gambling, if I were to start today, is it still worth it to enter this industry? How much longer do you think this will last?

That is very hard to say, however, let me give you some historical perspective.

I first got involved with marketing online gambling in 1997. Then, in 1998, about 21 people were arrested for operating illegal online gambling operations. These were U.S. citizens running online casinos and sportsbooks outside the U.S., but they were dumb enough to have their names attached to them. In almost all of the cases, they pleaded guilty to minor crimes. Only one guy (that I know of) went to trial.

At the time, it looked like that could be the end of online gambling. Senatory Kyl introduced the first of many bills in Congress to make online gambling illegal. It never made it to the President’s desk.

Since 1998, few if any people have been arrested for online gambling. There have been several attempts to pass bills in Congress to make online gambling illegal. So far none have been successful.

My point is that this is NOT the first time the government has said it would “crack down” on online gambling, and it certainly won’t be the last.

How long will it take before online gambling is actually shut down? Nobody can say.

But if I had thrown in the towel in 1998 when the first crack down happened, I would have missed out on millions of dollars worth of income.
