If the main page is considtently beaten by the sub-pages it is probably the victim of a Yahoo penalty effecting tens of thousands of sites now. This penalty is a mistake and they are working to fix it. I looked at you site and don’t think this is the case — the penalty occurs because another site links to your page via a redirect, which causes Yahoo to drop your page and list the redirect url — but something like that might be at work. The only other thing I can csee in this instance is that the subpage has the Directory links pointing at it, so it may be algorithmically more powerful than the main page. If the main page had several more quality links it probably would rank better than the subpage.
Yahoo is making a lot of changes so if the main page does rank for other phrases, then it probably will sort itself out.
