Classic how you can defend such an obviously corrupt directory that has no real value is beyond me.

‘To be rejected you have to get an email. It’s just a form email, and maybe some dick of a meta editor should have included a reason, but so what? You just going to curl up into a ball and die? Take the next step. In this case, Randy, if you would have read a bunch of the apply to be an editor resource zone forum it would have been apparent that you should have applied to a smaller category.’

And why the hell should someone waste 100+ hours of thier life sending in different applications over and over just for the fluke possibility that they might get approved? To include one website? That is the most retarted thing I have ever heard. No one I know has ever been approved. I know webmasters that have had all thier friends apply. I applied for a town near here with a population of 500! I guess that directory is just too huge to accept someone near that town.

And you know what. Dmoz has no special relationship with search engines. Search engines crawl the useless database, but they also crawl any other site. If you happen to be on a page with high PR then you get a pr boost otherwise it’s worthless.

Last I checked no one uses Dmoz. Dmoz is owned by Netscape, and guess what that browser and search engine is dying as fast as the directory is. Who in thier right mind uses Dmoz? I just tested it out for fun and and looked up ‘red deer web design’ sure enough the second link on the page goes to a website that has no content and only popups. The third website is down, the 4th website is a funeral home, the 5th site is hockey, and all of the other websites have no relevance to web design.

But that’s weird there’s at least 15 web design firms in this town. But I guess since no one can become an editor, and the current editors are too stupid to explain why they reject websites or applications it’s to be expected.

That is one example. I could give you many for almost any search.

Please oh great one provide some examples of your websites so that we may learn what relevant content is that shall appease the Dmoz Gods. I am really looking forward to seeing these links that shame our websites.
