InactiveTh article it alternates between complaining about flash not working, complaining that unchanged websites are too complicated and detail too small, or complaining that the site’s mobile version has been dumbed down.
* Newsflash * While smart-phones CAN surf the web, their functionality and screen space is so reduced that most website are a poor version of the mainstream version.
Just as you can’t pack all your two-week vacation luggage into a carry-on bag – you cannot pack a fully featured website into a mobile version. IF you want detailed info and graphics – then get a 10 inch tablet, laptop or desktop?
Every year since 2007 has been “the year of the mobile” – still waiting for it to happen – because the main restrictions of small screen space, and underpowered chips make mobile surfing a very limited experience.
I have a smart phone, I have a tablet, I have a desktop. If I was to allocate my internet use by device it would be mobile 2% -> tablet 22% -> desktop 78%. My mobile phone access tends to be very basic news browsing and not “buying” at all.
If there is value in “Mobile” traffic in the online gambling space, it’s probably in the 10 inch tablets – and they handle standard layouts just fine.
