Hi,
For those of you who know me, you’d also know one of my pet peeves in this industry is affiliates having to play the waiting game with relation to commission payments.
It seems a lot of program have the idea that all affiliates are millionaires and if payments are a few days or even a week late it’s no BIG deal. Sadly very few affiliates are walking ATM’s and we all depend on what comes through the door to meet our obligations.
As I’m unable to post at AGD, I noticed members over there asking about when GoWild were paying and this the the reply they got.
Normally payments for GoWild are received between the 4’th to the 8’th but typically the 4’th. It’s now the 13’th and no payment yet.
Using these excuses are not on. It’s not like GoWild were not aware of ICE/LAC and should have planned to make payments to affiliate before leaving. Instead, they go off and party it up and affiliates are again left in the lurch wondering when they can pay their bills.
Not good enough!
I guess, they are too busy getting more business than keeping the current business happy.
At least they did not skim so they could afford to party.

biggygMemberThese days I am just happy to get paid but wondering the size of a company if the affiliate manager being in London means payments are not going out lol.How many hats are they wearing these days?

True.
But here’s some food for thought

Has the general consensus of allowing affiliate programs to pay when they like (that is breach their own payment dates) contributed to other more serious issues?
Give an inch they’ll take a mile, comes to mind.

Eva_BetwayMemberIt has always bugged me how the affiliate managers and these companies treat affiliates. They act like they are second class citizens. The truth is they should treat affiliates with utmost importance and respect to maintain a strong customer base. But somehow the logic is lost on them.

mslotMemberI’m not speaking on behalf of other programs here but only in our particular case for our own affiliates. Its not an attempt at an excuse but just an explanation. I can only imagine that other programs had the same challenges.
Both ICE and LAC conference took place at the beginning of the month. ICE was from Monday 4th – 6th February. The last day of January fell on Thursday 31st and then the 1st Feb fell on a Friday.. Two days later our staff left for London so unfortunately it was purely a schedule issue, obviously payments cannot be made before the month closes.
Our team only returned back to the office Sunday the 10th Feb after LAC and only then could we start processing payments and doing the month audit.
Casinobonusguy you hit the nail on the head, way to many hats these days 😎

For programs who pay early on in the month and they’re disrupted by conference dates and the EOM falling on a Friday, it’s not ideal but one has to cut some slack.
However for programs who pay mid to late month there really is no excuse. Reiterating it’s not like they are not aware of conference dates well before hand.
