MissMMemberOh wow I am getting burned I think. I have 2 out of 3 websites hosted on Godaddy…
Have to be honest, never had any trouble and they helped me a lot with some issues in the past.

Really??? Never any issues? That is so impressive to hear!
To be honest, I’ve worked with GoDaddy in the past, and I cannot stand their customer service. I discontinued working with them mainly for that very reason!
Do you have an idea of where you’re going to move your sites to now instead?

hendermaryMemberMy site was down for approximately 3-4 hours. From the reports I read, it wasn’t just people who hosted with them, but also people who had their domains registered with them. 50 million sites is a lot…
For whatever reason, there seems to be a very “hands-off” cynical approach to their services that I hear often from lots of my friends in the industry and also on the forums.
I just want to opine to the contrary based on my own experiences with them.
In all honesty I’ve never really had a problem and I’ve found every single one of their telephone support agents incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and patient.
To be fair, I run just one site and it’s not my main source of income, so I’m somewhat less “pressured”. Moreover, I’m not a “webmaster tech whiz” like lots of you out there…just a professional from the Content side of the industry who loves poker….so anything and everything I know from the tech side of things comes somewhat more difficult to me so it’s possible I was fielding “easy” questions to them…but to me, clueless, their knowledge and assistance was as good as gold each and ever time I had to call for support.
Lastly, for the record, at one point I just stopped our conversation with one of the support agents and asked him how on earth he knew SO much…I mean literally, he walked me through everything I needed to figure out, step by step, for 20 minutes patiently and sympathetically….and after thanking me for the compliment he mentioned that GoDaddy accepts 1 out of every 1,000 applicants for tech support positions.
At least that’s my experience with them…and I’m happy they were able to counter the cyberattack relatively quickly.

I don’t host there and only did so briefly with a new domain recently.
I use it strictly for domain registration. The support for that has always been great.

wbprofitsMemberI have had the worst support from them and have since moved each domain from them!
Support actually told me I had to email a .it registar when I purchased the domain directly from GoSh*tty to verify is was me who bought the domain . when I asked support when would my newly purchased .it domain be in my account so I can use it !
Unbelievably the worst support I have ever had in anything !September 15, 2012 at 4:27 pm #827995Anonymous
InactiveBut they are sorry for the outage and will give you a 30% discount on any renewal when you use discount code “Apology4a”
I tried it – but they ‘already gave me the best prices available”
I guess they are not ‘that’ sorry.
Turds!
