    Phrases that make me cringe

Grow your business (hey, only if it’s tomatoes)

For the greater good (usually mentioned when someone ‘messes with you’,takes away your rights, cheats you)

Pretty cool list, I hadn’t heard a lot of those before and still not quite sure what a few of them mean :)

E.g. ‘We’re eating our own dogfood’ and ‘We’ve got it covered from soup to nuts’

I hear ya loud and clear… there were a few on there that totally seem like they’re from left field. If I was in a situation where someone actually said those terms to me, I would probably end up full on laughing.

Yup, the dogfood one is new to me – but interesting – makes you think about the interconnectivity of the whole food chain (but it’s probably not).

But I’ve actually heard the ‘soup to nuts’ one many times. I’m sure it goes back to before the time of walmart where you could expect to find anything you wanted to buy in one store.

They sure do not translate well.
