I also lost my old gmail account to this. My bad I had the same password for my gmail and my moneybookers.. I got a moneybookers payment email about some video game I didnt buy..
So I was typing an email to moneybookers to let them know it was a fraud payment, and when I hit send I was logged out of gmail, password changed, mobile recovery and mobile email changed, and I had to have filled out the form to recover my google account like 50 times over the next couple of months but kept getting rejected I think because of the dates.. it was a 6 year old account and I didnt remember the proper dates that I had setup each of the google services under my account..
It was devastating.. had to recover and change the passwords for all of my servers and hosting accounts and every website I ever used..
Since then I have been offered to buy the moneybookers database more than once, and by different people.
Its crazy, moneybookers is difficult to use because they force you through such rigorous security yet they pay no mind to the security of their own servers and systems.
I had always ‘assumed’ those money sites were all ‘safe’.
I learned my lesson on leaving money in those accounts after neteller.
I have $ in click2pay and can’t get it out – some casino put a % in there recently even though I told them not too. They have no way to send it to to USA aff’s (jeez).
If you change your primary address for moneybookers your secondary address is still valid…. so you would not have to change your MB address for all the aff programs… ok good things said about MB… now onto the bad… did anyone else get an email about being a “fully approved customer” with a form to fill in?
yeah iv changed my primary and removed all my old secondary ones, my moneybookers password was only used for moneybookers, i had never used it with any other accounts, email address, forums nothing, thats why i want to find out how this guy got the password

Crazy. Thanks for the information guys. If moneybookers themselves were compromised it could really give hackers something to work with since they keep a hash of every password you’ve ever used with them on file – not to mention the digital proof of identity audits (I’ve been through it a handful of times.) I hope they keep that information secure. You really never know.
A friend of mine moneybookers account was also hacked (russians) but it was much larger sums lost. MB never paid her back (almost $10,000 up in smoke). My neteller was hacked too but as a VIP, neteller paid me everything that I lost (around $4000). MB is cheaper but neteller is better and pay you.
Moneybookers works too slow when bad things happened, thats why they never find the stolen funds…The money was lost when they start to work on it 1-2 day later. But they pay her nothing for that.

He got the password from the moneybookers database.. its floating around and getting sold and resold.. both times I was offered to buy it it was updated to different dates, and was different people selling it.. so its not just a one time thing, I think they are a target and get constantly raped.

Full data.. and no I didn’t say anything to moneybookers, I’m sure they know from the amount of hijacked accounts and frauds that they are being robbed.. they probably just cant find the hole.
jeeez very worrying!!! i havent had a reply from the security dept yet but i got one from the vip support guys this morning saying that moneybookers can offer a 100% money back guarantee to vip status members who use the ‘security token’ they offer for an extra fee, also you can ask for your moneybookers account to be locked to your own personal ip address which i have now requested..thanks for all the feedback
if the mb database was so openly available surely there would be a massive rush of accounts being emptied on an daily bases@Play 238883 wrote:

Would you be able to post the source of the offers and perhaps by whom it was offered? Moneybookers should be aware of this.
